Benefits of LNAT
In the academic year 2009-2010 7,132 UK and overseas candidates sat the LNAT, giving the universities to which they had applied a clear, fair and measurable assessment of their aptitude for law.
"LNAT performance is only one of the factors we take into account when making admissions decisions, but the test provides unique and useful evidence of a candidate's reasoning ability and communication skills. We are particularly impressed with the rigour of the question setting process, with the new format of the multiple choice section, and with the fact that the LNAT is available internationally. As a result of the efficient central administration, review and delivery of the test, the LNAT imposes only limited burdens on the universities that use it."
Ben McFarlane, Admissions Co-Ordinator, University of Oxford
“The extra information we receive from LNAT enables us to select in a fair and objective way between all applicants. It is particularly useful to have the opportunity to see a sample of an applicant’s written work. We believe that the test has contributed in a positive way to our admissions procedures.”
Dr Phil Syrpis, University of Bristol
“Our experience has shown the value of the LNAT in helping us to process as fairly as possible the high volume of applications we receive for places on our law courses.”
Dr Leslie Turano, King’s College London
