No credit card? You need an LNAT voucher (link)

Home > Registration > Exam fees and payment methods

The cost of the LNAT is shared between candidates and the universities to which they apply. These are the fees charged to candidates for the 2009-10 LNAT:

UK/EU test centres: GBP 40

Test centres outside the EU: GBP 60

Note that the test fees depend on the test centre location, not on your place of residence or your nationality.

The test fee is payable online, at the time of booking a test slot, by major credit card (Visa, MC, Amex, JCB) or debit card (Visa only). No payment, no booking. Because of problems with international card verification, Switch/Maestro debit cards are currently not accepted as a form of payment. So you may need to ask a parent or guardian or teacher to help you with the payment stage.

The fee is always charged in GBP (pounds sterling). If you have a non-UK credit card, your credit card company will bill you according to its own rules for foreign transactions.

If you are worried about paying the test fee, we have a bursary scheme that may be able to help. Test fees will be waived for UK/EU students in receipt of certain state benefits. More on bursaries

If you don't have access to a major credit card or Visa debit card, we have a fallback system that allows you to send a cheque (or make a bank transfer, or even hand over cash) in exchange for an electronic voucher. The voucher number is then entered online at the time of registration. More on vouchers

We have had credit card verification problems in the following countries: Pakistan, Lebanon, Nigeria, Senegal, Bangladesh, Benin, Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana, Tanzania,Togo, Uganda. If you live in one of these countries then you cannot pay the test fee by credit card (irrespective of where you want to sit the test). In that case, you must pay by electronic voucher. LNAT-participating universities regard it as the responsibility of individual candidates to make arrangements to register for and sit the LNAT. Do not rely on your school or college to register you or book your test slot unless you are explicitly told by your school or college that they are doing it. Even in this case, it is for you as an individual candidate to make sure that your registration and booking is accurate and timely, and it is for you to make sure that you attend at the correct test centre at the correct time. LNAT-participating universities will not waive the requirement to take the test just because you were mistakenly relying on your school or college to organise a test-sitting for you, or because you missed your test sitting. More information for schools and colleges

You may reschedule your test without charge up to 12 noon (UK time) on the second working day before the currently scheduled date of your test. (Working days are Monday to Friday excluding English Bank Holidays.) If you have to reschedule later than this, you will count as a no-show and your payment will not be refunded. You will have to register and pay again if you still want to sit the LNAT. Payments are not refunded in the event that you decide not to sit the LNAT at all. More on rescheduling
