Home > Introduction > Who needs to sit the LNAT? > Notes for NUI Maynooth applicants

The requirement to sit the LNAT for admission to study law at NUI Maynooth applies to applicants for mature entry only. A mature student at NUI Maynooth is a person who is at least 23 years of age on 1 January of the year of entry. There is no upper age limit. Mature students who range in age from 23 to 73 are currently enrolled at NUI Maynooth. More information about mature students at NUI Maynooth

The requirement for mature students to sit the LNAT applies to the following two degree programmes at NUI Maynooth:

MH115 BCL Law  and Arts
MH406 BBL Business & Law

In addition to registering for and sitting the LNAT at the appointed place and time, mature student applicants must also complete the NUI Maynooth Mature Student Application form and register with the Central Applications Office. Details of the NUI Maynooth/CAO application process and application deadlines

You must take the LNAT between 1 November 2009 and 1 May 2010 to be considered for entry to NUI Maynooth in September 2010. As the decision on the allocation of places is made immediately after the 1 May deadline, there can be no exceptions.

A limited number of places for LNAT sittings is available each week in Ireland and it is your responsibility to ensure that you register well in advance of the test deadline. If all the test places become filled so that you miss the 1 May deadline, your application will not be considered in the current year (although you may choose to travel to a test centre further away in order to meet the deadline). Details of LNAT test centres are here

The charge to sit the LNAT in the EU is GBP 40 payable online by major credit card (Visa, MC, Amex) or debit card (Visa only) at the time of booking. If you do not have access to an accepted credit or debit card we have a fallback system. You can post a GBP 40 draft, available from you local bank or post office, to obtain an electronic voucher. Please note: using the voucher system will add at least 2 weeks to your timeline. Think ahead! More about payment

Ready? Please begin the process by registering online. This is the only way to take the LNAT. Booking directly at the test centre is impossible. Full registration and booking instructions are here
