How do I register to sit the LNAT?
We have a secure online registration system provided by
Pearson VUE, who operate the test for us. Registration opens on
1 August 2009. More

Are there any exceptions to online registration?
There is only one exception. If you have a disability or illness
and need to notify us of your examination access requirements (e.g. physical adaptations at the test centre), you
will need to fill in a paper form to notify us before you can be
registered. More on examination access requirements

When should I register?
As soon as possible. Every LNAT-participating university
has deadlines for sitting the LNAT. If you miss these deadlines,
your application is liable to be rejected. You can register any time up
to 12 noon two working days before your test sitting, and hence any time up
to 12 noon two workings day before a university's deadline.
(A working day is Monday to Friday excluding English Bank Holidays.) However, if you
leave registration this late you risk not being able to
find an available slot at a local test centre, so you risk
having to make a long journey. There are plenty of slots at each
centre, but we expect there to be high demand as the deadlines
approach, especially at city-centre test centres in the UK. Register early and sit the test early! More

What information do I need in order to register?
Registration is a two-step process. In step one you create
a profile. In step two you book and pay for a test. For step
one you need (most obviously) your name and address. You also need an active
email address to which an acknowledgement can be sent. You
need your UCAS personal identifier number. For step two you need your diary, so that you can choose a
test slot. And you need a suitable method of payment. See
below on methods of payment. Tour

Where do I find my UCAS personal identifier number?
Your UCAS personal identifier is a 10-digit number in the format
123-456-7890 that should be shown on all correspondence
you receive from UCAS. It is also displayed whenever you log in
to the UCAS 'Apply' module using your username and password.
Thus you can obtain it as soon as you have registered online with
UCAS, even before you have applied to any universities. You should enter the ten digits in our system
without the hyphens. Go
to the UCAS 'Apply' module now Or
open the UCAS apply module in a new window instead

What if I don't yet have a UCAS personal identifier number?
You may register for and take the LNAT before or after you
apply to universities through UCAS, so long as you take it in the
correct testing year. If you do not enter a UCAS personal identifier number at time of LNAT registration you should enter it on our system
as
soon as you have it, even if this is after you have taken the LNAT.
Take great care to enter the ten digits of your UCAS personal identifier number correctly. The
system will require you to omit the hyphens. Your UCAS personal
identifier number helps
us to make sure that your LNAT result reaches the
right universities. If it is incorrectly entered, your LNAT result may
be inaccessible to some universities listed on your UCAS form. This is your responsibility. More

How do I go back to add my UCAS personal identifier number later?
Sign back into the Pearson VUE registration system, click on
'Update Profile' on the Navigation Menu, and then on 'Testing
Programs' at the top of the screen. Here you will find the space
to type in your UCAS personal identifier number. Take great care to enter your UCAS personal
identifier correctly, omitting the hyphens. Full

What if I forget my LNAT password?
You can reset your password from the Pearson VUE website. The
Pearson VUE forgotten password form is here

What if I forget my LNAT username? If you have forgotten your
username you can try retrieving it from the
Pearson VUE automated look-up system
If this fails, you will have
to speak to a Pearson VUE agent to retrieve your username. Fill in our forgotten username form to get
started

Where do I find my LNAT Registration Number?
Some Universities may ask you for your 'LNAT Registration Number',
also known as your 'LNAT ID'. This consists of the letters LNAT
followed by six digits. If you don't have a note of it you can find
it by signing back into the Pearson VUE registration system, clicking
on 'Update Profile' on the Navigation Menu, and then on 'Testing
Programs' at the top of the screen. You will then see your LNAT
ID! Full

Can my school or college register me for the LNAT?
Yes, so long as they have your consent to do so and are
willing to make the payment on your behalf. However, LNAT- participating universities regard it as the
responsibility of individual candidates to make arrangements to register
for and
sit the LNAT. Do not rely on your school or college to register
you unless you are explicitly told by your school or college that
they are doing it.
Even in this case, it is for you as an individual candidate to
make sure that the registration is accurate and timely, and it is
for you to make sure that you attend at the correct test centre
at the correct time. LNAT-participating universities will not waive
the requirement to take the test just because you were mistakenly
relying on your school or college to organise a test-sitting
for you. More info for schools and colleges

How much does it cost?
The LNAT test fee is GBP 40 to sit the test at a UK or EU
test centre, or GBP 60 to sit the test outside the EU. The fee is always charged in GBP (pounds sterling). More
on fees and payment

How do I pay the test fee?
The test fee is payable online, at the time of
booking a test slot, by major credit card (Visa, MC, Amex, JCB)
or by Visa debit card. If you quit
the booking process without paying, your booking will fail
and you will have to start it again. Because the
system is international, Switch/Maestro debit cards are currently not accepted.
So you may well need to ask a parent or guardian or teacher
to help you with the payment stage. More
on fees and payment

What if I haven't got access to a suitable payment
card?
We have an electronic voucher system for those who can't
get access to a major credit card or Visa debit card. To obtain an electronic voucher,
you will need to send a cheque
or money order before you book your test slot.

Do you ever reduce or waive the test fee?
We have a bursary system that waives the test fee for those
in receipt of certain state educational benefits in their country of
residence. This applies to UK and EU students only. You will need
to apply for a bursary before you
register for the LNAT. We will pay bursaries by electronic voucher
(see previous question). More
